NASHVILLE, TN—Best-selling author Max Lucado’s new hardcover release, Traveling
Light, is inspiring its readers to write—music. The book, which ships nationally this month,
has inspired award-winning music producers Brown Bannister and Steve Hindalong
to create a music project entitled “Traveling Light: Music of Psalm 23”
for release March 5, 2002, from new label Creative Trust Workshop. Provident
Music Group and BMG will distribute the CD to retail in the United States, and
international distribution is currently being determined.
Grammy awarding-winning producer Brown Bannister and
“City on a Hill” producer Steve Hindalong, are currently tracking the “Traveling Light” project and
securing artists for the recording.
“This psalm is familiar to so many of us, but Max’s thoughts on the
psalmist’s words gave them fresh meaning,” Bannister explains. “We hope the lyrics and music of this CD
help others experience God’s shepherding heart.”
Top name Christian music artists are currently being secured for the
recording of the project. Four songs
have already been selected as single releases for radio including songs penned
by Brown Bannister, Mark Byrd, Steve Hindalong and Third Day’s Mac Powell. Lucado’s 2001 He Chose the Nails
speaking/concert tour was immensely popular, and a similar Traveling Light
tour is being considered for 2002.
“My friends Brown Bannister and Dan Raines have
teamed with outstanding Nashville artists to share the promise of Psalm 23 in
song,” explains Max Lucado. “And I have every reason to believe this project
will be a rich reminder of God’s love.”
The W Publishing Group, publisher of Traveling
Light, is releasing numerous ancillary products including an audio
edition read by the author, a Spanish paperback edition, and a hardcover Traveling
Light devotional journal. Licenses are also being granted for apparel, paper goods and home
décor. The W Publishing Group is a
division of Thomas Nelson Inc. based in Nashville, Tennessee.
