“On the
Farm with Farmer BobTM” Releases
in September 04
Nashville, Tennessee—Integrity Publishers announces
the September 2004 launch of its highly-anticipated video series “On the Farm
with Farmer BobTM,” produced in partnership with Flying Rhinoceros
and GlueWorks Entertainment. Music superstars Vince Gill and Amy Grant appear
as character voices to the animated series, and the theme song is performed by
Country music legend Randy Travis. The
first two episodes – “A Friend Planting Seeds is A Friend Indeed” and “Cocka
Doodle Doo the Right Thing” – will release in September 2004 alongside a unique
“On the Farm” story and sketch book.
The video storylines are based on parables told in the Bible, which the
farm characters flesh out with humor and easy-to-apply lessons for kids.
“On the Farm with Farmer BobTM” marks
the first animation character voicing work for either Gill or Grant. Amy Grant voices the lovable barnyard
leader, Jenny the Dog, while Vince Gill adopts a decidedly un-country accent
for Hercules the Rooster, a gruff bird with a heart of gold. Laura Minchew, Senior VP and Publisher of
Integrity Family, the children and family product area of Integrity Publishers,
believes this project is captivating and unique: “We knew the moment Vince first gave our grumpy rooster Hercules
a hilarious Brooklyn accent that this project was going to be fun for kids and
parents alike.”

get to do something just a little bit outside the box, it makes it interesting

From Hercules, a cranky rooster who likes to sleep
in, to Sam the Ram, who loves pizza covered with jam, to Jenny the Dog, the
ever-loyal conscientious leader, this barnyard is filled with a tractor-load of
true “characters” whose uproariously funny personalities will bring hours of
entertainment and learning to little farmers.
In the first episode, “A Friend Planting Seeds is A
Friend Indeed,” Jenny the Dog (Grant) and Hercules the Rooster (Gill), along
with their barnyard friends, are given instructions on how to plant a
field. No one follows directions,
everyone blames each other, and general calamity ensues. This video illustrates the importance of
getting along with each other as well as the lesson of faith from the Parable
of the Sower.
“Cocka
Doodle Doo the Right Thing” is the second episode, based on the Bible story of
the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. Jenny the Dog is in charge
of cleaning up the farm in honor of a special guest and everyone
cooperates…except Hercules. Eventually, all the animals
on Farmer Bob’s farm realize the importance of treating everyone with
respect. Also, through the antics of
Sam the Ram, kids will learn how important it is to do the right thing, even
if no one else is looking.
