June
19, 2003—Best-selling author
Max
Lucado will be the featured speaker on a live satellite broadcast October 5,
2003, from Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, where Lucado serves as
minister. Lucado will be speaking to
thousands of viewers on the topic of his new book, entitled Next Door
Savior: Near Enough to Touch, Strong Enough to Trust (W Publishing
Group, September 2003) and will be joined by special musical guests (to be
announced soon). The satellite
simulcast, produced by Church Communication Network (CCN), will reach CCN’s
1,500 North American subscriber churches as well as non-subscribing churches
and organizations on a pay-per-view basis.
Most churches will offer the Lucado broadcast event free to their
congregations and guests.
Next Door Savior, the theme of Lucado’s two-hour broadcast, was written to address the questions
and longings
of
longtime believers as well as those of curious onlookers. Says Lucado: “
To
the seeker, Next Door Savior offers reasons to believe. To the believer, Next Door Savior offers fiber for
faith. But more than an apologetic treatise on Jesus, this book is
designed to platform the "God-manness" of Christ, acquainting the reader with
Jesus’ one-of-a-kind
claims.”
“We’re excited to have the opportunity to bring Max Lucado to churches all around North America live via satellite technology,” comments Bill Dallas, Founder and CEO, Church Communication Network. “Max is one of America’s most beloved authors and speakers, and have great expectations for his October 5 broadcast.”
