Are Finally Coming to a
Retail Store Near You!
What is Kid
Concoctions? Developed originally for hands-on Sunday school lessons, Kid Concoctions has grown into a wildly
successful arts-and-crafts brand based on the concept of using household goods
to create popular children’s toys for pennies on the dollar. The authors, as
parents of four kids, set out to make learning fun and exciting through unique
projects that teach children basic life skills, promote family interaction,
provoke thought, stimulate creativity, and build self-esteem.
The four original Kid
Concoctions titles—The Ultimate Book of Kid Concoctions, The
Ultimate Book of Kid Concoctions 2, The
Ultimate Book of Holiday Kid Concoctions, and Kid Concoctions and Contraptions—have
been revised and repacked for trade release (October 2006, $14.99 each, B&H
Kids). Previously available only via
infomercials and the Kid Concoctions
website, these revised titles will now be available in a wide range of retails
outlets including bookstores, toy stores and warehouse clubs. The Thomases are
currently completing an all-new inspirational-themed title, Kid
Concoctions of Biblical Proportions, to be released
Kid Concoctions is a widely-recognized brand with
significant licensing agreements, including a RoseArt line of Kid Concoctions products (which sold
100,000 units in six weeks as a Target stores exclusive earlier in 2006), as
well as a line of Darice craft supplies now in development. A pair of DVDs from
Time-Life are currently being sold nationally, and a Kid Concoctions craft can currently be found on specially marked boxes of Kellogg’s
Fruit Loops cereal. This fall, Chick-fil-A restaurants will offer a Kid Concoctions CD-ROM as its kid’s meal prize—with an estimated distribution of more than five million
units. Kid Concoctions has won four Parent’s Choice Awards, four Dr. Toy
awards, and six Telly Awards. The brand
has experienced phenomenal sales through infomercials and QVC, where the books
set a one-day sales record.
