October 18, 1985      David Guthrie & Nancy Jinks meet in Waco, Texas, both working for Word, Inc.

October 18, 1986       David & Nancy Guthrie marry in Waco, Texas

September 1988      David and NancyThe Guthries move to Dallas, Texas

October 18, 1989      David & Nancy discover they are pregnant

June 27, 1990      Matthew Owen Guthrie is born; Nancy leaves Word to start home-based media relations business (Matt is healthy, and the Guthries are unaware that they are Zellweger Syndrome carriers)

October 1993      The Guthries move to Nashville, Tennessee

Early November 1998      Nancy studies Job at Bible Study Fellowship, a weekly intensive Bible class

November 23, 1998      Hope Lauren Guthrie is born (preliminary diagnosis of Zellweger Syndrome the next day)

February 1999      David undergoes vasectomy to prevent future pregnancies

April 1999      Nancy speaks to the women at her church, Christ Presbyterian Church.  This talk becomes the foundation of the book, Holding On to Hope

June 9, 1999      Hope Guthrie dies

December 5, 2000      David & Nancy discover third pregnancy

January 3, 2001      Nancy undergoes the pre-natal testing procedure

January 26, 2001      Dr. Marshall Summar calls the Guthries to deliver news that their baby boy has Zellweger Syndrome

March 2001      Nancy believes God opened her heart to write a book about the lessons she had learned from Job

July 2001       Nancy sends manuscript for Holding On to Hope to publisher

July 16, 2001      TIME Magazine article profiling the Guthries runs on the same day that their third child, Gabriel Johnson Guthrie, is born

January 15, 2002      Gabriel Guthrie dies

July 16, 2002      Nancy Guthrie’s first book, Holding On to Hope: A Pathway Through Suffering to the Heart of God, will be published by Tyndale House Publishers (one year anniversary of Gabriel’s birth)
