Author of Champions for Life:
The Power of a Father’s Blessing
- Your life is filled with
success stories, from life as an NFL all-pro player to founding an
evangelistic ministry endorsed by Billy Graham. To what (or whom) do you
credit the positive achievements in your life?
- You enjoyed a remarkable
professional football career—including seven years with the Cleveland
Browns. Not only were you a four-time all-pro, but you stayed incredibly
injury-free during your college and professional career. Is it true that
you didn’t miss one practice or one game for 22 years?
- You write in your new
book, Champions for Life, that your own father made a powerful
impact on your life through what you call his “blessing.” Can you tell
our audience about your father and this blessing he gave to you?
- Obviously, not every young
person experiences a blessing from his father—some receive something
closer to a curse. How can Christians impact these young people,
sometimes called “at risk” youth, with the gospel and a blessing?
- Tell us more about the Champions
for Life evangelistic ministry. How did it get started and what
outreach efforts are you involved with today?
- Your evangelistic ministry
spans 30 years. What do you think has changed the most in society during
these three decades?
- I’m impressed by the fact
that the Champions for Life reaches out to inmates—in fact your
ministry is one of the largest and oldest to do so. Since the number of
prison inmates has escalated in the past decades, do you still believe
that Christians can make a difference in the lives of prisoners?
- How can listeners/viewers
get in touch with Champions for Life if they want more information?
