PICKET FENCE PRESS, A NEW TYNDALE HOUSE IMPRINT IN ALLIANCE WITH
BESTSELLING AUTHOR AND FAMILY AND HOME MANAGEMENT EXPERT
KATHY PEEL
(Carol Stream, IL) – Tyndale House Publishers is pleased to announce that bestselling author, home and family management expert, and entrepreneur Kathy Peel has selected Tyndale to publish a new line of books under the imprint, Picket Fence Press ™.
According to Peel, the imprint was developed in response to a growing sense of desperation among women who are juggling multiple priorities in the home and out of it. Approximately 70% of women ages 30-44 are employed full-time or part-time outside of the home, and are still the primary managers of the home. “These women are overwhelmed with their responsibilities, and are losing themselves literally and spiritually,” says Peel. “My hope is that Picket Fence Press will provide resources to help the reader simplify her life, create a smoothly running, orderly home, strengthen family relationships, and achieve a healthy, balanced lifestyle – without driving herself crazy with unrealistic expectations of perfection.”
“We are honored to partner with Kathy Peel and her company, Family Manager, to provide Picket Fence books by Kathy, as well as other authors she helps us find, recruit, and publish under this new imprint,” says Janis Long Harris, the Associate Publisher leading the new imprint at Tyndale House. “This imprint hits at the heart of a potential market of millions of Generation X and Baby Boomer women.”
Tyndale is planning to release at least two titles a year under the new imprint.
The first Picket Fence book, Desperate Households (How to Restore Order and Harmony to Your Life and Home) by Kathy Peel, will be published in July, 2007. As she shares her own personal stories and thirteen stories of women and families whom she’s navigated through life-changing Family Manager Makeovers, Kathy equips the reader to take steps in her own home and personal life that will make a huge difference in her family’s – and her own – quality of life.
With some lighthearted humor, Kathy Peel offers practical and spiritually based solutions to seven areas of potential desperation, and reminds each reader that God cares about the details of her life and wants to meet her and empower her at her points of desperation.
Kathy Peel is committed to providing essential resources to strengthen busy families and enhance the home. She is the author of 18 books, including the bestselling The Family Manager’s Guide to Summer Survival, A Mother’s Manual for School Day Survival, A Mother’s Manual for Holiday Survival, and Life’s Little Treasure Book of Christmas Traditions. She has been a contributing editor to Family Circle magazine for more than a dozen years and has written for numerous other periodicals including Reader’s Digest and Ladies Home Journal, and is a popular speaker and media personality whose Family Manager Makeover stories have appeared on programs such as The Oprah Winfrey Show and CBS television’s The Early Show. She recently launched a national network of Certified Family Manager Coaches and Family Manager University, an online campus for training coaches to help families create happy, organized homes. In addition to authoring her own Picket Fence books, Kathy will serve as “editor-at-large” for the imprint.
Tyndale is launching Desperate Households and Picket Fence Press with a national marketing campaign, including an author publicity tour.
