As National Directors of the Marriage and Family Network of
the American Association of Christian Counselors, Drs. David and Jan Stoop are
considered experts in the field of marriage counseling. They each hold Ph.D.s and David is a licensed
clinical psychologist in the State of California-having logged more than 20,000
hours with couples in counseling sessions. David and Jan have led seminars and marriage retreats in the
United States, Europe, South Africa, Australia and Asia, on topics such as
marital relationships, fathering, forgiveness, and parenting. Beyond their years of clinical and
teaching experience, the Stoops bring decades of personal experience to the field
of marital relationships-David and Jan have been married to one another for 50 years.
David Stoop is currently an adjunct professor at Fuller
Seminary and serves on the Executive Board of the American Association of
Christian Counselors. David is heard regularly as co-host of the national "New
Life Live" radio program, with a listening audience of over one million, and he
has appeared on national television shows such as CNN's "Crossfire" and "The
700 Club." Jan Stoop is a frequent
speaker for women's groups and is the co-author of The Grandmother Book. She speaks nationally with David at their marriage
enrichment workshops.
David and Jan have co-authored more than two dozen books,
including Better Than Ever: Seven Secrets to a Great Marriage (Jordan House/Meredith Books) which
releases December 2007. The
couple's acclaimed titles include The Complete Marriage Book; Forgiving the Unforgivable; When Couples Pray Together; Forgiving Our Parents, Forgiving
Ourselves. And David
has served as the executive editor for the Spiritual Renewal Bible (ECPA Gold Medallion winner) as
well as executive editor for the Life Recovery Bible, a unique 12-step Bible, which has
sold more than one million copies.
The Stoops reside in Newport Beach, California, and have
three sons and five grandchildren.
