7:00 - 8:30 pm: "Becoming Great at the Basics" - Whether you are a new publicist or a seasoned pro, this session will help you sharpen your PR skills by learning how to improve press materials, build credibility with the media, create and implement an aggressive but realistic publicity plan.

Friday, February 9, 2001:

8:00 - 8:45 am:
"Maximize Trade Coverage" - Learn how to obtain positive trade publicity for your company as wella s your products in our industry's key trade publications.
8:45 - 10:00 am: "Top Christian Print Coverage" - This session will give you proven strategies for getting great reviews and feature stories through real-life examples, editorial calendars from major publications and editor's insights. Guaranteed to build your credibility.
10:15 - 11:30 am: "Crack the General Market Media" - We'll discuss how to determine the potential of a project for general media attention and how to tailor your pitch to get consideration by the right editors and producers.
11:45 am: "Lunch with Cathy Grossman, Religion Writer, USA Today" - Ever wish you could get a story in the nation's most-read newspaper? Cathy Lynn Grossman will tell us what she is looking for in covering religion for this all-important newspaper and offer tips on how to get the attention of USA Today editors.
2:00 - 4:15 pm: "'Let's Talk About It' Round Table Discussions" - We're all in the same boat, with many of the same challenges, so we'll take some time to learn from each other in four 30-minute sessions including:
  • Publicity Budgeting and Planning
  • Pulling Off Multi-City Media Tours
  • Memorable Special Events led by Malcolm & Martha Greenwood of Big Event Productions, Inc.
  • Selecting and Supervising Outside Publicists
4:30 - 5:30 pm: "Getting a "Yes" from Christian Television" - In this session, you will be able to ask the top producers-such as Molly Young of "The 700 Club," Bruce Jacobson of "Life Today" and Trish Ragsdale of "At Home Live" - how to get your author or artists on their show and how to prepare them to make the most of it.
